Who we are
U3A Godley is one of over twelve U3A groups in Christchurch. U3A is an organisation for semi-retired and retired people aged 55 years and over that provides an opportunity to continue learning by listening to guest speakers, meeting new people, joining interest groups and being social. U3A stands for University of the 3rd Age, but we’re not a university.
What we offer
Our members enjoy access to guest speakers on a wide variety of topics,
usually in a series of five weekly talks.
Speaker events are on Monday at 10.30am at St Marks Church, 150 Withells Road, Avonhead, Christchurch. A cup of tea/coffee is available every meeting 10-10:20am and usually on the last day of each series we invite members to a catered morning tea starting at 9:45am.
Our members can join interest groups including arts, books, cycling, movies, walking and more. We also organise the occasional social event, such as morning teas and an AGM/Christmas luncheon.
